Is there a nurse at the school?

There will be a nurse OR a qualified First Aid Attendant on duty from Monday to Friday between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. During other times, St. George’s has access to a neighbourhood medical clinic for emergency care. Students should always tell a staff member about any sickness or injury, even if it seems minor. In the case of an emergency, our staff will call the local emergency line.

What kind of insurance does St. George’s provide?

St. George’s provides emergency medical insurance. Students who have chronic or pre-existing medical problems must inform the Summer Boarding Manager in order to confirm coverage. Our insurance only covers medical expenses while in Canada during our Summer Program. It does not cover medical expenses resulting from injury in Canada once you return to your home country. Registrants are responsible for any medical fees not covered by St. George’s Health Insurance Policy.
